ANGE POSTECOGLOU can go and enjoy a well earned rest for a few weeks after the season he’s had with Celtic.

He’s taken a team on its knees and made them Champions of Scotland within 10 months – it’s an incredible story.

Celtic’s success this season is down to Ange’s unwavering belief in his own philosophy. Not shirking from the plan when things didn’t go our way and instilling a confidence and a swagger in a team who were put together very quickly over the course of last summer then in January.

The former Socceroos coach had to run a gauntlet of media obligations on title day but he never looked disinterested and engaged with everyone who had turned up to report on his side’s famous title victory.

The Celtic manager got visibly emotional when Aussie journalist David Davutovic brought up Ange’s late father and what he would’ve thought of a day like Saturday.

Ange also salutes his wife for being his rock. Ange flew his family across the world to take the Celtic job and they’ve supported him all the way.

As we said, it’s time for Ange to get some time to recharge the batteries. As he’s told this site on a few occasions, as a manager of a football club the size of Celtic, you never truly switch off from your role. But getting away from Lennoxtown and going for a break will ensure he’s back revitalised and ready to lead the team next season.

Ange’s rousing speech post-match on Saturday has certainly got fans excited for what comes next. The Champions League awaits.
