BARRY FERGUSON has done Neil Lennon’s Sunday team talk for him on the Daily Record podcast as the former Ibrox ace says he EXPECTS a win for the home side on Sunday.

The man who captained the old Rangers back in the noughties believes the Ibrox club will win again after getting the result against Celtic in December.

What people like Barry forget is how badly Celtic were depleted with injuries at the time. Mikey Johnstone was Celtic’s lone strike on the day while Callum McGregor was at left-back, Kieran Tierney was out and two of Celtic’s defenders limped off in the first half.

It’s the kind of arrogance that typifies the Ibrox mindset and why they told us at the start of the season they were going to win the league. Even in January, we were told the same when they brought in Defoe during the winter break.

“I’m expecting Rangers to win.

“For the past four or five times I’ve been bricking it when it comes to watching Old Firm games. And the feeling of watching the one on December 29 was good. I saw a different side to Rangers that day. I hadn’t seen that for a long, long time.

“There was a fear from the players when they came up against Celtic – it wasn’t there at Ibrox. I look at Celtic and I don’t fear them. Hopefully the Rangers players are the same. Yes, they’ve got good players but they haven’t got top, top ones. Rangers are getting there.”

Celtic have had so many things thrown at them this season and yet they are still the best team in the country going for a treble treble.

Barry is talking up a team that is bragging it won 5 games in a row while Celtic ARE a team who has won eight trophies in a row. This is the world we live in though, pure fantasy.

Celtic will go for the win on Sunday and Barry painting the bhoys as underdogs is as blinkered as it gets.

  1. If we win the scottish cup this year it will be our 18th trophy in 8 years. Just let that sink in bazza.

  2. Only read the headline, but any honest Celtic fan will tell you we haven’t hit the sort of levels this season that would engender fear in anyone. Thats the cold hard truth.

IMO We have become a very run of the mill side over the last 18 months
