It is over nine months since Kieran Tierney left Celtic and speaking about the former Celtic player still brings up some unwanted emotion for certain fans. Nobody can argue that they didn’t want the player to leave in the first place, whatever you think of the player after he left for Arsenal is your own business.

The reality is the player has spent nine months on the treatment table and hasn’t had a run of games in over two seasons. Celtic didn’t lose too much in terms of actual game time as Arsenal bought the player injured and injured he has stayed.

Some people think KT chose money over his boyhood club and all the crest thumping was not real but most rational thinking people will now differently. The dash from hospital to Hampden was hardly staged. The player has just done a Q&A for Sky Sports and his love for Celtic is still quite apparent.

“I would say leaving Celtic was the hardest decision I’d ever had to make and I knew I would always miss Celtic no matter what happens in life.

“But the chance to play for Arsenal was a challenge that when I heard of it, I was just looking forward to it.

“I didn’t move to Arsenal to live in London. I came to London so I could play for Arsenal.

If the player wasn’t Celtic daft there is no way he would come out with the following statement almost a year later.

“I miss everything about Celtic. And I always will. I am very grateful for every second I spent playing for the club.”

Some of us live in hope that Tierney will return to Celtic before he hits his 30’s but that might be just wishful thinking.
