A new Alex Ferguson documentary is set to drop at the end of the month on social media.

Widely regarded as one of the greatest managers of all time, Alex grew up in Glasgow as a Rangers fans and would go on to play for his boyhood club.

Ferguson played from 1967-69. The club was steeped in immense bigotry from the inside. Rangers would not sign any high profile Catholics to their team and checked to make sure there was no issues with any incoming players around religion.

Alex Ferguson speaks about signing for Rangers back in 67. The man who would go on to be a well respected figure within the game was asked about his Catholic wife Cathy.

He was brought into the chairman’s office and asked about the situation regarding their wedding. They enquired if Ferguson had got married in a chapel – if that should make any difference, but to them it did.

The pair got married at a registry office which appeared to please the Rangers director.

Ferguson looks back on the moment and feels he let himself down.

Watch:

We show this clip for two reasons: one this documentary is about to drop and believe it will be a good watch on Amazon; two, after what we witnessed at the weekend, it’s clear that mindset is still very much within the support emanating from Ibrox.

The rancid festering hatred and superiority saw them miss out on many top talents throughout the years because they would simply not sign Catholics. Their actions still have massive ramifications and the superiority complex is still alive and festering in their support.
