KARAMOKO DEMBELE has lifted the lid on the day he made his Celtic debut in front of a packed Celtic Park in the final day of the season.

The bhoys enjoyed a bumper crowd with the SPFL Trophy being lifted at the end of the game and it was also a dress rehearsal for the Scottish Cup Final. At half time, Oli burke’s Celtic career came to a premature end when the pacey attacker succumbed to injury. Looking at his bench, Neil Lennon had no qualms at bringing on Karamoko Dembele for the second half and did exactly that.

Celtic fans were delighted to a see a young lad they had heard so much about finally get some game time for the first team. A reminder that Karamoko only turned 16 in February!

The midfielder spoke about the occasion to Celtic TV and how he’s been handling the pressure of being dubbed a wonder kid.

“There’s a lot of attention and pressure but I’ve dealt with it well, to be honest. My family has helped me get through it, keep my head down and focus on football.

“It was unbelievable to make my debut because I wasn’t really expecting it.

“When I was coming on, everyone was screaming my name and it was crazy.

“It was quite hard not to smile – it was nice.

“There was a lot of build up to that game and to finally do it, was a kind of relief in a way.

“When I got on the pitch, I never wanted the game to finish.

“It was that good a feeling and hopefully I’ll get another chance.

“I just want to focus on getting as many as I can. I want to be relentless with it.”
