After having some time to reflect on his defeat at Celtic Park on Thursday night, Simone Inzaghi has conceded it’s a night that he will be telling his kids for years to come.

The Italian was blown away by the Celtic support who very much became Celtic’s 12th man on the night as they battled back from a goal down.

The intensity of the Celtic Park crowd over the years has prompted some of the biggest names in football to comment on the Celtic support. From Maldini to Messi, they know it’s a special place on European nights under the lights.

Inzaghi knew the atmosphere would be red hot but by the sounds of things even his expectations were blown away. It’s not every day you get a defeated opposition manager complimenting another support.

“The Celtic game is a match I will be telling my children about for many years. In fact, I actually brought my oldest child with me because I knew how good it would be.” He told Record Sport.

“Yes, we lost to Celtic , but they are a quality team who play at a very high pace and to a very good standard. There’s nothing to be ashamed of.

“The important thing was how we responded and you saw how we did that against Fiorentina. To get a win here at such a tough venue was the perfect way to respond to losing in Scotland.”

Celtic head out to Rome in less than two weeks for the reverse fixture in the group. The bhoys know they’ll be in for a tough night in Italy. The great thing is they will have a bumper support for the tie with around 9,000 fans expected to be inside the Stadio Olimpico.
