Celtic won a world record eighth domestic treble on Saturday evening thanks to a 3-1 win over Inverness.
After the game, though, questions over the future of the club’s manager, Ange postecoglou, could not be escaped.
Speaking to BBC Scotland on TV post match, the Australian said:
“I’m going to be a little bit selfish here because not just me, but the people around me, my family, have worked so hard to enjoy this moment and as disappointing as that may be for people that’s what I’m going to do.
“I’m just enjoying this and I will enjoy it as long as I can before people drag me away to talk about other things.”
Postecoglou obviously doesn’t want to talk about his future as of yet.
The Australian simply wants to enjoy the moment of winning the treble with Celtic which is reasonable.
Nevertheless, one cannot help but feel a sense of anxiety that today might’ve been Postecoglou’s last in charge of Celtic due to how unwilling he was to speak about his future. If he was staying, why not just say?
Despite this, tonight’s treble celebrations should in no way be hampered and fans should, like Postecoglou, enjoy the moment.
