FORMER Everton and Manchester United boss Davie Moyes has told BBC Radio he would ‘always’ be interested in the Celtic job if it came up after he was asked about the role on Radio 5 live.

The former Celtic player and Celtic fan has been without a club since leaving West Ham in May last year and the bookies have him pencilled in as one of the top four favourites to take over the Celtic job in the summer.

Moyes clearly not extinguishing any chance he may be asked to come in and interview for the role but the Scotsman did compliment Neil Lennon on the job he’s doing and tipping his hat to the Irishman

“I would always interested [in the Celtic job,]” Moyes told BBC Radio 5 Live as cited on HITC. “But I have got to say Lenny’s done a brilliant job. He’s been there before and I think the job he is doing at the moment would warrant him being the Celtic manager. I really do, he’s doing a good job.”

Moyes was in the frame back in 2016 before Brendan Rodgers took over and there may have been a lot of support for him then. However, many see a Moyes appointment is uninspired with the manager struggling at this last three clubs.

It will be ultimately up to Dermot Desmond on who the next man will be and there’s still a very good chance it will be Neil Lennon.

  1. There will continue to be such disruptive nonsensical speculation to unsettle our run in to eight in a row. Even if he hadn’t had the disastrous track record since man United this man is not welcome at Celtic. Give Neil Lennon the job now and make a statement about his and our future.
