Celtic will be hoping to point even more points on the board as the Scottish champions head to Germany to take on RB Leipzig.

These back-to-back games with the Bundesliga side could go a long way in dictating the outcome of the group.

So far, Celtic have had a frustrating group stage campaign having managed only one point after two games with their German opponents managing none.

Although Real Madrid managed to net three goals at Celtic Park, that was not a fair reflection on the whole game with Celtic causing the Spanish champions a lot of problems and managing to keep them at bay for a large part of the game.

Celtic began the game over in Warsaw against Shakhtar Donetsk in true Ange fashion, with players pressing high the Hoops getting the reward of an early goal.

A draw away from home in the Champions League is never a bad result but many felt that Celtic should have taken all three points.

When the groups were drawn many would have fancied Celtic to progress from this group but it is imperative that the side start to take their chances.

“It’s been good, I would have enjoyed it more if we’d won, obviously, because you want to win games of football,” said Ange Postecoglou speaking to Celtic TV.

“But it’s just great to be performing at that level again and it’s where the club needs to be, wants to be. Now the challenge for us is to grow every time we’re out there.

“I guess for the players, that initial excitement in the first game, the buzz of being in the Champions League, particularly here at home playing against Real Madrid was fantastic, but now we’ve done that, it’s about ‘let’s make an impact at that level’.

“It doesn’t mean the challenge is getting any easier, because Leipzig away is a pretty tough challenge, but now it’s about really wanting us to be present at that stage, to be competitive at that stage and growing every time we’re out there.”

The manager has emphasised that Celtic need to keep chipping away at this level to help the club make progress at this level of European football.

RB Leipzig haven’t had the best of starts to the season with Domenico Tedesco losing his job after a 4-1 thumping at home to Shakhtar.

Marco Rose has had mixed results since he came in but the task for Celtic will be tough

“They had a little bit of a disrupted start to the season.  But the change of manager seems to have sparked them a little bit. All the traditional trademarks of their football are there, they’ve got a lot of speed, very dynamic and in terms of transition football very quick.

“When you’re playing away in the Champions League there’s always a massive challenge to overcome those hurdles. But I think it will be a good game for us to again measure our football, measure ourselves and we’ll be ready for it.”
