It has been confirmed this morning that a 32-year-old man has been arrested after a bottle was thrown and hit a Celtic staff member on Sunday during the Glasgow Derby.

It was a game mired in embarrassment for the home side, fans throwing missiles onto the pitch, including glass bottles during the tie and even after it when the Celtic players were trying to celebrate with their small band of supporters.

As we reported on Monday morning, a Celtic physio was struck on the technical are around half time and had to receive stitches.

It was a shocking incident that’s not nearly getting enough attention. Probably because a physio was hit and not a player or first team coach.

It’s abhorrent this happened. We’re glad to see moves now to find the culprits and hopefully justice can be done if anyone has been found to commit wrongdoing.

Throwing missiles because you’re team is losing is not a good look for anyone and should always be condemned. We’ve yet to hear anything public from the Ibrox club on the issue.
