Ibrox fan and journalist for the Rangers Review, Jonny McFarlane has tried to quell the rumour Celtic are getting paid more for their Australia appearance than the Ibrox club.

Much has been made of the trip and the idea of Celtic playing a friendly with their Glasgow rivals.

Both sets of fans have protested to some degree over the tournament set for Sydney in November but the clubs look to be forging ahead.

One big rumour is Celtic are getting more money than their rivals because they are taking too billing on the tournament graphics and it’s being billed as the Ange Postecoglou homecoming.

McFarlane has spoken with someone at the Ibrox club who has refuted that fact.

Not to pour water over Jonny’s ‘exclusive ‘ but there’s little chance either club knows what the other is getting. A share of ticket revenue plus a fee to make the trip will be baked into the deal but these have likely been done separately.

  1. Says the club who claimed were financially secure….before realising more confetti shares weeks later. They’ll take whatever they can get.
