RYAN JACK has lifted the lid on Celtic striker Giorgos Giakoumakis’ ‘disrespectful’ comments about his belief that he would be getting his hands on the league trophy come May.

After his hat-trick against Dundee, the Greek striker revealed that, in his eyes, Celtic were the best side in the country and will show this by lifting the league title at the end of the season. This left many Gers fans fuming, including Ryan Jack.

Speaking at Friday’s press conference, quoted by Football Scotland, the Scottish midfielder said;

“I don’t agree with that, I don’t get that at all, I think it’s disrespectful to come out with that.

“But it is what it is, we will go quietly about our business, do our talking and work hard in-house and come Sunday, be up for the challenge.”

Giakoumakis’ confidence is brilliant – I’m all for it. It seems to have got into the heads of the Ibrox stars. They’ll be desperate to prove him wrong.

At the end of the day, it’s one of the greatest rivalries in the world, I’m not sure why Ryan Jack wants more respect.

Hopefully, Celtic will do their talking on the park and leave with an extended lead at the top of the table.
