CHRIS SUTTON believes Celtic could have been in a better position on Thursday night had the players listened to Odsonne Edouard after his coolly struck penalty.

The Frenchman pulled Celtic back to 1-1 on the night. He then pointed to his head as in ‘keep the head’ and let’s finish this.

In the aftermath of the goal, Celtic fans weren’t even sitting down yet when Copenhagen had made it 2-1 and put the tie behind Celtic. We didn’t keep the head and continued the frantic football which led to our own demise.

Eddy’s penalty was so cool under pressure and while he didn’t have his best game it must have been falling for him to see some of his teammates sell the jersey on the night.

Sutton wrote in his RecordSport column: The supporters in the stands were edgy and tetchy but Odsonne Edouard was the coolest man in the place when he produced that ridiculous dinked penalty to get his side level against Copenhagen

He grabbed the ball but rather than celebrated he pointed to his temples – telling his team-mates to keep the head.

If only they had listened.

I have absolutely no doubt the Celtic squad won’t have slept on Thursday night and will still have that sick feeling in the bottom of their stomachs.

Celtic have to move on quickly from the disappointment to make sure their domestic dominance continues. There’s no real time to look back and imagine ‘what if?’. Right now, nine in a row is still there to be won and another Scottish Cup triumph.
