CELTIC ICON John Hartson has opened up about the illness which nearly cost him his life.
Hartson was diagnosed with testicular cancer and the prognosis looked bleak after ignoring the signs, of something which he’s very honest about and wants to raise awareness of.
So many men don’t listen to what their body is saying and it’s vital these things are caught early.
"I was ignorant of my health and the cancer was a huge scare."

John Hartson had a very successful football career – playing for Arsenal, West Ham, Celtic and West Brom to name a few.
The Welshman was famously knocked back by a certain Ibrox club back in the day after he failed a medical. Less than a year later, John was in the Hoops and terrorising Celtic’s main rivals at the time.
Now he has survived Cancer, the 43-year-old has started his own foundation to raise awareness of the illness and raise money for those affected by it.
Like today, John is carrying out media duties but also carrying the message wherever he can.
