ARTUR BORUC has told his friend and former teammate Josip Juranovic to stay at Celtic amid speculation some big clubs want to sign him.

It’s been a fairly quiet window with regards to rumours over outgoings. It’s a benefit of signing so many players up last season; there’s nobody really clamouring for the exit or at the end of their ‘cycle’ as former boss Brendan Rodgers used to say.

Juranovic has been an outlier, and there have been several reports and rumours surrounding interest in the right back. Josip played a big part in Celtic’s success proving an absolute bargain for Ange Postecoglou and Celtic.

Artur Boruc has passed on some sound advice to the Celtic defender and you won’t see many fans disagreeing with what the former Hoops goalkeeper has said:

“I played with Juranovic and I’m not surprised because he was a good player when he came to Legia Warsaw,” Boruc exclusively told Football Scotland.

“He adjusted well to the team when he played here and I knew he was a player.

“He’s a very ambitious guy as well which is the main thing.

“That helps most players.

“I don’t want to say much but the best thing for him would maybe be two good years at Celtic.

“Play a little bit more in Europe and then move on. I don’t know.”

Celtic have a buy to sell model and if they can gain massive profit on a player they will cash in more often than not. However, a Champions League campaign coupled with the chance to win some more domestic silverware will be at the forefront of Josip’s mind.

Ange Postecoglou has spoken about how focused the Croatian is and how much he’s enjoying it at Celtic. We do expect the defender to move on, maybe next season, but right now, it’s all hands on deck.
