Celtic B striker Joey Dawson has revealed he will be out until 2024 after undergoing knee surgery after posting an image post-op on Instagram.

The striker had really started hitting his stride as of late with some big goals. However, he now has a long road ahead before getting back into the Celtic machine.

The frontman has scored 20 goals in 21 Lowland League appearances. The player hadn’t played since going off injured on March 10th vs Cumbernauld Colts.

It will be a massive blow for Joey, who was doing his best to be noticed by Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou.

Joey has already made a first team appearance. During Ange Postecoglou’s first season in charge, the striker was called upon during the club’s injury crisis. Playing a part in Celtic’s 3-1 win against St Johnstone on Boxing day 2021.

It’s a big blow for Celtic in their quest to finish 1st in the Lowland League. The Spartans are in pole position for the title, while Celtic are just a point off their Glasgow rivals in third at the moment.

Darren O’Dea and Stephen McManus know they have a good squad and should be able to find the goals from elsewhere. It’s not been ideal for the pair who lost Rocco Vata earlier this season.
