Celtic have confirmed the team for their Sunday afternoon tie against St Johnstone this afternoon and there’s one major talking point among the supporters – the continued exclusion of Ismaila Soro.
The defensive midfielder was unceremoniously dropped from the team after the St Mirren loss and has not been back in since. Today is the midfielder’s fourth game on the bench while Scott Brown gets his fourth start in a row. At nearly 36, there’s absolutely no need for the Celtic captain to be in there four games on the bounce.
Celtic’s season is over in terms of winning the league, right now is the best opportunity we’re going to get to bring in the younger players who will be here next season and give them the best chance to prepare and hopefully succeed next term.
However, the old guard, and players who will likely leave in the summer are being included in the starting XI more often than not, which does nothing for us going forward and is all about the here and now.
What has Soro done to warrant being dropped for four games straight?

You’ve got to feel for Soro man , dropped at the first opportunity for Brown who’s been questionable as per since he’s came back in and still isn’t dropped.
Just confirming how much Lennon was gagging to get Brown back in the team and Soro out.

For me, I would be much more engaged as a supporter if Neil Lennon gave youth a chance and made sure we were starting to build for the future.
Like Barkas, Ajeti needs a run of consecutive games to build his confidence and he gets 2 !
Im afraid our youth policy is shot-some got a chance after the Dubai debacle and none looked up to standard.
Whole club needs a major overhaul
Lennon only interested in grinding out an odd goal win, with old favourites and will not give youth and the future a chance, Broonie 36, 4th game in a row, and Captain Chaos, no Soro.
