Time flies, and if you don’t believe us, it’s been six years since Celtic played out a 3-3 thriller with Inter Milan at Celtic Park!

I had to do a double-take this morning as I looked at the year of resident twitter ‘on this day’ Celtic account Li’l Ze.

The last 32 round of the competition pit Celtic against the Italian side over two legs.

The home tie was an extraordinary affair!

Celtic were 2-0 down after thirteen minutes played. Ronny Deila’s side and a capacity Celtic Park shell shocked. However, Celtic would be back on level terms when they would score two goals in two minutes, first from the newly signed Stuart Armstrong and the second a well worked piece of play which saw Inter man Campagnaro stick the ball into the back of his own net. The stadium was electric!

With Celtic in the ascendancy, we can only describe Craig Gordon’s mistake as selling the jersey. A whipped ball in which should have been a routine take saw the goalkeeper scramble, stretch, miss out and let Inter in for a third just before half time.

The second half wouldn’t be as pulsating as the first but Celtic managed to dig deep. It took until the 93rd minute for John Guidetti, on loan from Manchester City, to smash the ball into the roof of the net in the most dramatic of circumstances.

It was an incredible night for the Celtic faithful and as we sit here almost a year removed from our last visit inside Celtic Park, you just can’t take these nights for granted.

Have a watch!
