Not many Celtic fans will know the name Craig Foster, but they will have seen the clip of the pundit and Ange verbally sparring back in the day on YouTube.

It was one of the first clips that went viral among the Celtic support when Ange signed for Celtic.

The pair had a very public falling out over the Australian youth side – and because of the internet – it’s there forever.

However, fast forward to now and Craig is advocating Ange gets a longer deal at Celtic.

Foster was asked by Mark Bosnich if Celtic should tie the manager down, this was his response:

“I think they should, I mean he’s turned them around hasn’t he, last season they were horrible (finishing 25 points behind champions The Rangers). “ Foster told StanSport.

“And that’s why Ange gets an opportunity. Sometimes coaches walk into an environment that’s in some ways difficult.”

As far as we’re aware, Ange has landed the same deal as every Celtic deal over the past twenty years. A 12 month rolling deal; meaning every day Ange wakes up, he has 12 months left on his Celtic contract.

The only longer term deal we’ve handed out is to Brendan Rodgers who signed a 12 month rolling deal at first before the club tied the Irishman down to a longer deal. It didn’t mean he stuck around but Celtic managed to get a significant fee for Brendan and his staff.

Ange could be rewarded with a similar deal if he manages somehow to win the league this season. It’s a big ask, but we’re still in the fight.
