Celtic duo Kyogo Furuhashi and James Forrest have been given until today to prove their fitness ahead of tomorrow’s Premier Sports Cup final against Hibernian.

Both players have faced a short spell on the sidelines after picking up recent knocks against Real Betis and Motherwell, respectively.

Ange Postecoglou has been coy in his answers surrounding their fitness. However, as reported by the Daily Record, both players have been handed a Saturday deadline to prove their fitness for the first opportunity to lift a trophy this season tomorrow afternoon.

“I’m not ruling anyone out, but I’m not ruling anyone in at the moment.

“From my perspective, if anyone is going to be available, they will have to train tomorrow [Saturday].

“So the medical team will give me a briefing in the morning, and we’ll go from there.

“It’s still sort of a day-to-day proposition. I’ve got no choice; it’s how it is.

This will undoubtedly be a big call for Postecoglou and his coaching staff over whether either of the two will be made available in the matchday squad.

Not only could both Kyogo and Forrest play their part tomorrow, but there is also the risk of sustaining another injury knock by featuring in the match, which would rule them out of another crucial period of fixtures during this month.

Fingers crossed that they can prove their fitness at Lennoxtown this afternoon and be available to be amongst the squad as it would provide a massive boost for fans and players alike.
