Neil Lennon has confirmed both Nir Bitton and Mikey Johnston will not be due back in the squad until late in September after both sustained injuries during Celtic’s victory at Ibrox.

The bhoys in green put the Ibrox club well and truly in their place at the start of the month but it came at a cost with the duo limping off during the game.

Nir was replaced by Bauer at the time with the on loan Stoke player doing well on his debut. Mikey Johnston’s replacement Jonny Hayes sealed the victory with a late goal to make it 2-0 on the day.

Mikey has had a bright start to the season with the Celtic manager clearly believing the young man is a big part of his squad.

In Mikey’s absence on a Saturday against Hamilton it was Elyounoussi who got the nod with the Southampton man grabbing an assist.

Speaking about both Neil Confirmed both players status.

“Nir and Mikey will be more towards the end of the month,” Lennon said.

“There are no fresh injury worries from the weekend, just a couple of injured boys in training.” He told CelticTV.
