BRENDAN RODGERS is still waiting to find out the extent of both Ajer’s and Boyata’s injuries they picked up yesterday at Rugby Park.

Losing the two players in the first half at a very detrimental effect on the team’s performance as they fell to a disappointing defeat.

However, there is some good news for Celtic on the defensive front, the Irishman declared that Jozo Simunovic will be fit and raring to go for Celtic’s next game against Partick Thistle on Saturday.

Speaking after the game Rodgers

“The injuries are unfortunate but I’ll see where we’re at. I don’t know how serious the injuries are as of yet. We just need to wait and see. Simunovic is fit but he struggles on the astro. He’ll be ready for next week though.”

If both Ajer and Boyata are out for an extended period it will be up to Jozo and Hendry to pick up the slack and form a partnership. Marvin Compper could be back before too long to relieve some of the pressure but as it stands Hendry and Jozo would be the players tasked with keeping out Zenit.
