Celtic are set to face Livingston at 12:30, and the release of the starting line-up has ignited a firestorm of opinions on Twitter among the Celtic faithful.

The inclusion of James Forrest in the starting XI has sparked a wave of discontent among supporters, many of whom question his capability to be in the starting line-up. While it’s understandable that fans are frustrated, given Celtic’s recent acquisitions in the winger department, the criticism levelled at Forrest seems disproportionately harsh. One might think, based on the reactions, that Forrest has never set foot on a football pitch before.

James Forrest Celtic

The animosity he has faced from his own fan base over the years is astonishing, especially considering his significant contributions to the team’s success. He’s a player who has amassed an impressive collection of silverware as an integral member of the squad. It’s disheartening to witness the Celtic community directing their ire at him once again.

If supporters are looking for a target for their frustration, perhaps they should aim it at Brendan Rodgers for not giving the nod to players like Palma or Yang. Alternatively, they could question the efficacy of the recruitment team, whose summer efforts appear to have fallen short.

We’re optimistic that Forrest will deliver a standout performance today, effectively silencing some of the vociferous critics online.

  1. I don’t for a minute believe it’s aimed at James it’s the frustration of watching this team after the success of last year I for one am disappointed with the signings in the window I mean you think we would be making some decent signings but to be honest it seems we have took two steps back

  2. James Forrest time has come and gone.
Why can’t young Vata be given a chance.
Celtic don’t want him to go, vata wants to go through personal ambition but lack of opportunity at Celtic.
So playing Forrest is detrimental to the moral of youngsters at Celtic.
