Japanese international boss Hajime Moriyasu could reportedly be set to lose his job after coming under fire for his recent team selections and poor results against the likes of Oman and Saudi Arabia.

According to the Japan Times, Moriyasu is now fighting for his job after underseeing a poor World Cup qualifying campaign which has seen his nation well of the mark and now has severely dented their chances of finishing within the top two spots in the group.

The international manager came under heavy fire for starting Celtic striker Kyogo Furuhashi on the bench in their last fixture against Saudi Araba, which they went on to lose 1-0.

They now face the tough task of getting a positive result against Australia, who are in the opposite vein of form at this moment in time – topping the qualification group.

Moriyasu will likely turn to Kyogo for inspiration from the start of the game on Tuesday.

However, it will be no easy feat as he prepares to come up against his Celtic teammate Tom Rogic.
