David Turnbull has made the Scotland under 21 squad under Scott Gemmill for their November fixtures but there’s surprising no room for Celtic’s young defender Stephen Welsh.
The player has been on the periphery of the main squad for a year, training with the first team and has managed some game time for Celtic as of late.
Gemmill can’t argue that he’s giving people a chance who have been getting more game time with their clubs because Turnbull hasn’t seen much action and neither have many of his call-ups.
Scot Gemmill has named his #SCO21s squad for our @UEFAUnder21 qualifiers against Croatia and Greece.

Welsh has been thrown in at the deepens but he stood up well and got experience against Zlatan Ibrahimovic just a week ago.
The young star wouldn’t look out of place in the young Scots side, it’s a strange one to snub him right now.
Stephen should continue his hard work with Celtic and perhaps he’ll land a place in the not to distant future.
