SKY SPORTS pundit and co commentator Davie Provan never misses an opportunity to take a dig at Peter Lawwell. The former Celtic player regularly blasts the Celtic head honcho for not doing the right thing by the club and squad.

Provan’s criticisms have often been proven to be drivel as he continues to push doom and gloom at Celtic and has done so as the club have racked up eleven trophies on the bounce.

This week, Provan’s issue appears to be with our rivals across the city signing strikers while Steven Fletcher is being entertained at Celtic Park.

The Sky pundit cannot believe Lawwell is dragging his heels when it comes to transfers.

“Is Peter Lawwell having a laugh? I know Covid-19 has hit club finances hard but the best-paid blazer in Scottish football has to up his game.” Provan wrote in his SunSport column.

“If injury-prone Fletcher is the extent of Lawwell’s ambition, he needs a word with himself.”

Celtic have so far done two bits of business on the transfer front; Vasilis Barkas and Moi Elyounoussi have both been secured so far but as Lennon chases more signings it appears as if Provan’s patience is running out.

There was such an outcry from supporters last year before the final week or so of the window when Celtic came through in the end. That was after we crashed out of the Champions League.

It would be great if Celtic could get their ducks in a row sooner but there are a lot of less than ideal circumstances surrounding the transfer market at present.
