On Tuesday’s Huddle podcast by Mark Wilson, he asked Simon Donnelly if he believed there was an agenda against Celtic.

Neil Lennon alluded to this being the case on Monday, during the podcast it inevitably came up and I believe Simon nailed it on the head.

He stopped short of saying there was an agenda but he did admit he believes there’s a lot of people out there enjoying the current situation Celtic find themselves in:

“I think there’s a lot of people enjoying the situation”

“Celtic have won so much over the last nine years and I think people are enjoying the situation

“Celtic have opened themselves up to that with the performances on the pitch and the stuff away from the pitch, they’re an easy target at the moment.”

Results haven’t been there for Celtic this season at all. The team which romped home this time last year has struggled to get going. A mixture of poor recruitment and a lack of being able to adapt is just some of the reasons behind the fall.

Off the pitch, we’re a mess and Simon is right. When a club dominates for so long, there is a lot of people, even neutrals that will enjoy seeing you coming off your perch.

The best thing Celtic can do is get their house in order and recover as quickly as possible so the people currently enjoying the situation will not be for any longer than one season.
