ALAN STUBBS has put his weight behind Celtic and more specifically Neil Lennon making a move for Hibernian’s Martin Boyle in this window.

There’s been unfounded social media rumours to this point but nothing concrete or even talked about.

Stubbs has thrown the cat amongst the pigeons by declaring Boyle and Lennon reuniting at Celtic would be a great fit.

“Here’s one for you, if I was Neil…Neil loved Martin Boyle. It fits.” Stubbs told SunSport.

“Neil had a real fondness for Boyley when he was there. He used to talk him up all the time.”

Neil Lennon has worked closely with Boyle at Hibs and the 26-year-old fits into the system the Irishman prefers at Celtic.

However, many supporters might see this as a bit of a sideways move and it would be interesting to see if Hibs would even be receptive or reasonable if Lennon came calling.

Celtic and Hibs aren’t on the best of terms after the John McGinn dealings a couple of years back.

Even though former Celtic defender has thrown it out into the universe, it would still be a big leap for Celtic to make a move for the player.

Transfermarkt have Boyle valued at 900k but you’re thinking Hibs would at least be looking for a round £1m at least.

  1. It’s about the time of the season, Celtic swop players ((In the bog papers) Martin Boyle for Lewis Morgan, so he can link up with his auld coach. But Lewis is happily away to the U. s.
