SLOVAN BRATISLAVA general director Ivan Kmotrik has made the admission Celtic have made an offer for Andraž Šporar on the official club website.

The Bratislava striker has hit 20 goals in 26 appearances this term with five of those goals coming in the Europa League. Andraž has apparently caught the attention of not only Celtic but other sides according to Ivan Kmotrik.

The Bhoys are on the look out for a frontman with cover for Edouard thin on the ground even though Leigh Griffiths and Vakoun Bayo are on the mend.

His goal to game ratio certainly seems attractive, however, Neil Lennon claimed he and the club knew nothing about the player earlier this week when asked by SunSport.

Kmotrik revealed there has been interest from Celtic and it has gone as far as a bid.

“It is true, that Celtic FC sent us an offer and showed a huge interest in Andraž Šporar. We are in touch not only with Celtic. There is an interest from another big clubs from France, Spain, Italy, Portugal or Belgium. There is already a huge interest and we expect, that even more clubs will address offers during transfer period,”

Andraž, 25, has a deal with the club until 2023 so he’s not going to go on the cheap. TransferMarkt currently value the forward at £2.25m – it would likely take more for Bratislava to part with their prolific frontman.
