If Celtic are to beat Real Madrid on Tuesday night, it won’t shock most, claims Steve McManaman.

The BT Pundit has watched Los Blancos closely over the years and has predicted Celtic to exploit Madrid’s vulnerabilities at the back and capitalise on the side’s recurring poor start to the group stages of the competition.

After Celtic’s big derby win at the weekend, the confidence within the group is high as they prepare for the clash on Tuesday, just a couple of days after the clash at Parkhead.

The atmosphere is set to be electric again, with tickets scarce. Those there will be behind the Bhoys as they look to upset the Spanish side.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, the BT Sports pundit said;

“I wouldn’t think it would be much of a shock. I think Celtic could easily get something out of the game.

“Real Madrid sometimes start this type of competition slowly. They always qualify from the group, but they can start slowly. Tuesday is the perfect opportunity.”

From last summer’s poor qualifiers to believing a result is possible in a Champions League match against the reigning Champions shows the turnaround under Ange Postecoglou.

Champions League football is back at Paradise, and many believe that it could stay until after Christmas with the team drawn into a favourable group.
