We reported this morning Davie Moyes had been asked about the Celtic job and basically did not rule it out but he did give Neil Lennon kudos for taking the job when Brendan Rodgers left.

This is the second time we have reported on a potential ‘Moyes to Celtic’ story and again it’s gone down like a lead balloon among a large portion of the Celtic support.

Last week we published a guest blog and opinion piece about Dermot Desmond potentially fancying a move for the Ex-Everton and Manchester United boss and our social media feeds lit up with people saying they would hand back their season ticket if this happened. There’s a strong opinion out there that Moyes chance to manage Celtic has passed and the club should look elsewhere.

Our social media feeds were today ablaze again with the news Moyes had mentioned the role live on BBC5 Live radio.

Here are some of the responses.

Gavin Savanna Merrick – “I like him, seems to be a genuine nice guy. But I’ve never enjoyed his teams football”

AndyBhoy Marshall – “He had his chance, we dodged a bullet when he thought he was too good for Celtic.”

Tim McCardle –  “Just another guy who would jump at the chance for a EPL team”

@marcmcardle1 – “Seriously, if Celtic even consider Moyes for the job we should immediately liquidate.”

@Tam91McGuire – “If he comes anywhere near Celtic am off! Am away to the Welsh league”

@RetroCeltic – “This would be a disaster.”

It’s not surprising Celtic fans aren’t over-enamoured with this ‘candidate’ but the ferocity of which some are showing at the potential appointment is quite something.

Moyes has went downhill since his Everton days and while Man Utd may have beena . poison chalice after Ferguson left Moyes’ time at Sociedad, Sunderland and West Ham paints a picture of a man not up to the task any longer.
