LIAM HENDERSON looks set to stay in Italy after it emerged his former Bari boss Fabio Grosso has convinced the midfielder to link up with him again at Hellas Verona.

The Italian side were relegated from Serie A last season and are looking to bounce back at the first time of action.

Serie B confirmed this week, Bari hadn’t made the necessary financial requirements to be registered to participate in the league. The club has subsequently gone into meltdown and bankruptcy.

This has freed Henderson up to look at other opportunities and while he has been offered multiple deals to head back to the UK – the former Celtic midfielder looks certain to continue his Italian adventure.

Having played 19 times for Bari last season, helping the doomed club to a playoff spot, the 22-year-old has made a name for himself in Italian football already.

It would be fantastic for Liam to now build on his short success on the field.
