Neil Lennon has described the gap between Celtic and Rangers as a “chasm” after his former club went 16 points clear at the top of the league at the weekend.

Rangers lost 2-1 at home to Motherwell, while Celtic saw out St Mirren with a 5-2 win.
With Brendan Rodgers’ side now just three wins away from securing the title, including a derby at Celtic Park, Lennon believes there is a gulf both on and off the pitch between the Glasgow rivals.
Speaking while promoting Premier Cup coverage from Celtic Park, Lennon didn’t hold back in his assessment of Rangers’ struggles. [PLZ]
“It’s a chasm. I couldn’t believe the result from Ibrox on Saturday.
“I thought with Barry going in there and with the change he made against Kilmarnock it was a positive one and it got them the result and the performance, you are thinking ‘maybe there is a bit of momentum there’. But it’s gone the other way.
“There is a huge fragility there in the squad and for whoever takes over, whether it be Barry or somebody else, everyone talks about a rebuild but for me it’s a change of culture and psychology that is needed more than anything else.

Celtic, meanwhile, remain on course for a historic fourth league title in a row and their 14th in the last 15 seasons. Their dominance is built on stability, strong recruitment, and a winning mentality—something Rangers have failed to match.
Rangers need to take a step back, accept where they are, and build properly, rather than making bold claims about winning the title without real substance to back it up. However, whether the Ibrox club would take that approach is a different story.
With Rangers already out of the Scottish Cup following their exit to Queen’s Park, there will be no Glasgow Derby showdown should Celtic get past Hibs this weekend.
