Mikael Lustig has welcomed his former Celtic teammate to AIK this week after John Guidetti signed for the Swedish outfit.
John and Mikael know each other very well from their Celtic days and their Swedish international camps.
The pair once played in a Ronny Deila side that would win the league. Guidetti signed for the Hoops on a year long loan from Manchester City and had a blistering first half of the season. In the second half of that season his contributions fell away and Leigh Griffiths came to the fore.
John’s City contrast was up immediately after his loan deal to Celtic but he made it clear to Ronny during the season he would not be staying permanently – the striker reportedly citing he wanted to play at a higher levels
Through injury and a bit of misguided arrogance st times, John has not lived up to the hype when he was coming through the ranks at Manchester City. He’s a lad not short on confidence who’s had a decent career. He’ll be hoping to hit the goal trail with AIK who also have a certain Jordan Larsson on their ranks on loan from Moscow.
