Hearts star Cammy Devlin has been speaking to the Sydney Morning Herald about his interaction with Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou and the thrill of meeting the Hoops boss after Celtic vs Hearts earlier in the season.

Being a young Australian player, Devlin looks up to the former Socceroo boss and can’t believe how well he’s doing.

Speaking about their interaction on the field after Celtic had beaten Hearts, Ange was keen to praise Devlin:

Ange told Cammy “So good to see you doing so well, mate. There is another level in you. Keep working hard.”

Devlin added: “I was hoping I’d get the chance to say hello to him after the game.

“Although I was knackered and gutted about the loss, it was nice to meet him and hear him say that to me, someone who has done so much for Australian football.

“He’s coaching fricken Celtic, man. It’s insane.

“The talk here, everyone likes him as well – even in Edinburgh, no one’s had a bad word to say. And everyone’s pretty opinionated over here.”

Ange has won a lot of friends around Scotland with the way he conducts himself on the touchline and in the media.

The straight-talking manager has been a breath of fresh air when it comes to how he handles a less than kind media clique.

His brand of exciting football has also been a huge reason why Celtic fans have taken to Ange so quickly. Winning the League Cup in December was the first trophy under the new boss at Celtic and fans can’t help there’s more on the way before all is said and done.

Cammy will be hoping to keep catching the eye of the Hoops Boss.
