Rangers defender Calvin Bassey is refusing to concede that the title race is over after Celtic stretched their gap to six points on Sunday with a win at Ibrox.

Goals from Celtic’s Tom Rogic and Cameron Carter-Vickers cancelled out the on-loan Juventus star’s opener.

Conceding within the first five minutes, Celtic’s brace in the first half ensured that their lead at the top of the table would double.

With just six games left to play, Celtic are firm favourites to win the league. It’s unlikely that the Parkhead club will drop enough points to allow the Ibrox side back into the race. However, fullback Calvin Bassey believes that the league is ‘not over’. As per the Daily Record, the Nigerian said;

“You could see on the pitch that we weren’t happy. But we have to put it behind us and move forward. We have big games upcoming.

“It’s not over until it’s over. We still have a lot to play and fight for. We will put it behind us and focus on the Braga game.”

The foes will lock horns at Hampden on Easter Sunday in the semi-final of the Scottish Cup. If Celtic see off their rivals, the possibility of a treble is real. Going by Sunday’s performance, Celtic will be the favourites to meet one of the Edinburgh sides in May.
