SCOTT BAIN made his second start for Celtic on Sunday against Motherwell in a stalemate at Fir Park.

The loan goalkeeper’s Ibrox display meant he got to keep his place in the side ahead of the fit again Doru de Vries.

Speaking about Bain’s situation Rodgers was glowing in his praise and admitted he’d be looking at the possibility of making the deal permanent.

“It’s short and long term. He’s been absolutely brilliant in how he is and how he’s worked.

“We brought him in because he can play the style we want. He’s shown that in training and now he has shown that in one of the biggest games you can as a Celtic player.

“It’s pretty clear he has the temperament and quality to play as a goalkeeper for Celtic.

“We’ll look at that between now and the end of the season.”

Bain is out of contract with Dundee in the summer and is free to sign a pre-contract at any point before then.

Bain will not be short of options, former Celtic gaffer Neil Lennon has already admitted he wants the 26-year-old back at Hibs next season. It will be up to Celtic to try and tie him up if he continues to impress.
