CHRIS SUTTON firmly believes that if star Celtic man Odsonne Edouard turns up for Celtic at Hibs and going forward, the bhoys will win the league. The former Celtic man believes it’s that simple.

Edouard has had a stop and start season with injuries and contracting the virus in recent times. The player hasn’t had the chance to get going but he’s not looked his usual self when he has played.

The window is closed, he hit the heights for his country, now it’s time for him to show why he is the best player in Scotland.

Sutton wrote in his Record Sport column:

“Ascending Odsonne Edouard hit top form for France under 21s this week but he now needs to bring his international A game back to Celtic as he holds the key to winning Ten In A Row.

“Edouard hits his peak, Celtic wins the league. It’s that simple for me.

“The Frenchman is the best player in Scotland by some stretch but he now has to start playing like it. A fit and firing Edouard is more than a match for anyone in the country.

“There’s no doubt he hasn’t turned up this season yet. I know you can throw a lot of reasons in to the mix, the speculation, the injury, getting Covid, I get all that.”

We agree with the sentiment but even a full flowing Edouard won’t save us if we don’t get our defence in order. We’ve shipped eight more goals than our city rivals playing two less games, it hasn’t been good enough at the back.

Celtic need to pull together and show doggedness in defence and especially at set pieces. We’ll see what they can do against Hibs.
