CELTIC have been looking to bring in an extra striker this summer with Vakoun Bayo the most likely to make way for the new addition.
However, the club are finding it difficult to get their top targets through the door.
The Scottish champions have been heavily linked with Ivan Toney over the past month. The Peterborough striker had a superb season last term and now The Posh are holding out for a large transfer fee.
Now it looks like Brentford have got the jump on everyone interested according to journalist Raman Bhardwaj.
Understand Brentford are close to agreeing a transfer fee with Peterborough for Celtic target Ivan Toney. Celtic’s bid of £5m for the striker was rejected over a week ago.

Brentford are in the playoff final this week and could be in-line to receive the riches which come along with winning the competition and entering the Premier League.
If that does happen, Celtic will not be able to compete with any financial package Brentford can offer. If they don’t go up, there could still be life in the deal.
