BARRY FRY has told SunSport, Ivan Toney wants to sign for Celtic.

The Posh chief seems like he’s running out of patience with Celtic, saying the club are close to losing the striker if they don’t act fast BUT if Toney had the choice – he would sign for Celtic.

“The lad is very close to signing for someone else in the next couple of days.

“Celtic would have been his preferred choice but they are nowhere near it.

“I heard from Ivan’s agent to say Celtic were coming back.

“That was Sunday evening after their first game but I haven’t heard anything.”

Fry is a bit of a Del Boy character and will be doing everything to squeeze as much money out of this transfer as possible. His latest comments feel like a car salesman trying to push you into getting that car you’ve been looking to buy.

Brentford have been heavily tipped to sign the striker but their Premier League dream came to an end on Tuesday night and they’ll now have to reassess their transfer policy.

Neil Lennon is very keen on the player – both Toney and West Ham’s Albian Ajeti have been top of the clubs list. It’ll be interesting to see if we can land one of them.

  1. Don’t fall for the Mr Fry mischief, but if we are really interested in the player get the deal done and stop making our great club looking amateurish, once again, in the transfer market! This is probably the most important season in our amazing history, so stop pussyfooting around.HAIL HAIL.
