Celtic could have to fend off interest from Everton this summer if they want to keep James Forrest.
It has emerged that Roberto Martinez has identified the midfielder as a summer target for Everton.
Martinez has often looked north of the border for talent, bringing James McArthur and McCarthy down south along with others while at Wigan.
James has had a season plagued with niggling injuries which has seen him miss a lot of games. There is no doubt the bhoy has got talent but it has struggled to shine through as of late.
The midfielder scored the all important goal in the Champions League qualifier back in August to send Celtic into the group stages.
The 22 year old often divides opinion among the support and becomes an easy target for the boo bhoys when the team are having a bad day.
He has always been given full backing by Neil Lennon who gave him his first opportunity at senior level.
It would have to be a good offer for the manager to part with his protégé.
