Neil Lennon has today provided some positive news for Celtic fans, in terms James Forrest as he edges closer to a return to action.

Speaking in today’s press conference ahead of tomorrow evening game against Kilmarnock, Lennon confirmed that the 29-year has returned to training himself and they are hoping he will re-join the group next week.

Forrest has been a huge miss in the side after picking up an injury in September in the Europe League qualifier against Riga.

Some fans may not like the Scotland internationalist, as much as others but it is clear that the side his missed his contributions this season and we have lacked any sort of natural right-winger.

The one that may frustrated Celtic fans, is if Forrest is pretty much rolled out ‘like a new signing’. The phrase we have heard so many times when an inured player has returned to the side.

Either way, it will be good to see Forrest back playing and hopefully, that will be before the end of the season.
