After a disappointing midweek in European football, Celtic winger James Forrest says the players will now have their full attention on the trip to Livingston.

He played a key part in ending the hoodoo at the Tony Macaroni Arena that the Hoops had faced for so long with Forrest rounding off a 3-1 victory with the other goals coming from Daizen Maeda and a Nicky Devlin own goal.

Ange Postecoglou’s side extended their lead at the top of the table last weekend after a thrilling 4-3 win at Tynecastle with league challengers Rangers dropping points at home to Livingston.

The fixture promises to be a tough encounter as always, but with Celtic experiencing a bit of form domestically many will hope that the Scottish champions can put in a performance and bounce back from the midweek disappointment of crashing out of European football.

Forrest has been in this position many times after European games whether positive or negative and knows how important it is for the players not to get to up or down.

“I think that’s what’s good with Celtic, if you go through a bad result or a bad game or that there’s always a game a couple of days later to put it right,” James Forrest told Celts Are Here.

“I think that’s the kind of attitude you are always going to have with Celtic – that a couple of days down the line there’s another big game and there’s no chance to dwell on performances or results.”

With the Celtic squad being given a flavour of Champions League football this season, they will have a hunger and desire to get back to Europe’s elite competition next season which can be secured with domestic success.
