Celtic winger James Forrest marked a significant milestone with his 500th appearance for the club this afternoon in the Glasgow Derby against Rangers at Celtic Park.

Forrest, who made his debut against Motherwell in a 4-0 win on May 1st, 2010, even managed to get on the scoresheet that day.

With an incredible 109 goals and 105 assists during his time at the club, Forrest has consistently proven himself, even when some wrote him off. He has battled through numerous injuries, and his resurgence towards the end of last season was a clear sign that he wasn’t giving up on his Celtic career, despite being linked with a move away.

Among the highlights for Forrest are his crucial stoppage-time goal against Shakhtar Karagandy in the 2013 Champions League playoff, which secured Celtic’s place in the group stage.

On 26 November 2017, Forrest scored his third goal in a League Cup final for the 2017/18 season, becoming the first Celtic player since Bobby Lennox to score in three winning League Cup finals.

He had previously netted in the 2014/15 and 2016/17 League Cup finals, contributing to Celtic’s victories in each of those seasons.

Forrest’s first goal against Rangers came in a memorable 5-0 win at Celtic Park in 2018, a victory that clinched the league title for the Hoops.

A year later, he scored a dramatic late winner in a 2-1 triumph over Rangers at Celtic Park in 2019, a crucial goal that was vital in securing yet another league title for the Hoops.

Forrest has also won an incredible 12 Scottish Premiership titles, 7 Scottish Cups, and 5 Scottish League Cups.

Additionally, he was named SFWA Footballer of the Year and PFA Scotland Players’ Player of the Year in 2019, further highlighting his immense contribution to the club’s success over the years.

The Scottish winger has simply stood the test of time and is currently only behind Bobby Lennox for the most honours won at the club, with the Lisbon Lion having 25 trophies to his name.
