JAMES FORREST scored against Livingston at the weekend, his first SPFL goal of the season with just eight games left on the clock.

The Celtic winger has had a poor season by his standards. After last season was hampered by injury, fans were expecting the Scottish Internationalist to bounce back this season and return to his old self.

But again, injury has gotten the best of James – missing the majority of the opening half of the season. Heading to West Lothian, there wasn’t many who fancied the Celtic player to start.

After scoring Celtic’s third goal of the afternoon, he took a step closer to his 100th career goal at Parkhead. Speaking live on Sky Sports after the match, James said he is aiming for more;

‘It’s always been a target. When I scored my last goal, it seems a while ago now, I said that when you are playing with such good players in the squad you are always going to get chances and it will just come down to me whether I take them or not.

‘I managed to get one today so hopefully, I can keep adding to it.

‘Normally it’s afterwards you talk about stuff you have done. I know it’s not easy. I’m not going to say ‘when I score four goals’.

‘I am just going to keep working hard and try to add to that and help the team in the coming games.’

The win on Sunday was James Forrest’s first at the ground and Celtic’s first in 15 years. It’s good to have that record in the bin now. Hopefully, the Livi curse is done and won’t come back to haunt us.
