James McCarthy could be set to leave Celtic before the window slams shut next month following rumours English clubs are interested in the squad player.

The Irish midfielder has a decision to make on his future, with game time at Celtic looking to be very limited.

He was left out of Ange’s first matchday squad, failing to take a seat on the bench for Celtic’s game against Aberdeen.

The Sun report that there is interest from England, and McCarthy is set to decide his next move in the coming days.

It’ll be interesting to see what kind of fee Celtic will demand for the out of favour star who still has three years left on his Parkhead deal, signing last summer. Or if they’ll just allow James to go freely.

Celtic’s Summer Transfer Window

Ange Postcoglou seems to have the majority of his business complete, with his attention now turning to departures.

The boss has stated that Albian Ajeti could be set for an exit, with some movement expected. James McCarthy could be set to join the Swiss striker, leaving Celtic Park this summer.
