Football is always fast moving – it doesn’t seem so long ago we were crying out for a right back and now we have three vying for the position.

Hatem Elhamed, Jeremie Frimpong and Moritz Bauer have all had game time this season with varying degrees of success. If you look at it over the piece both Hatem and Jeremie show the most promise but are very different options in the position and either could suit for any given game depending on what Neil Lennon is looking to do.

Moritz Bauer seems like the odd man out at the moment – coming in on loan to cover Elhamed, Neil Lennon didn’t envision Frimpong impressing the way he has.

This leaves Mortiz sitting on the sidelines behind two people in his position. The St Mirren game at home provides Neil Lennon with the opportunity to bring some fresh faces into the side. If you were going to play Moritz it would be on nights like the St Mirren game. However, if Elhamed is fit and Jeremie is raring to go – can Lenny seriously drop both for the Stoke City man.

Bauer is registered for the Europa League while Frimpong isn’t. If Celtic get through to the knockout stage of the competition they would be able to register the young right-back. Until then, Bauer is backup to Hatem in the Europa League.

Given Celtic have a season long loan on the player – it could transpire the player’s deal could be cut short if he’s not getting any game time.
