Celtic have tonight confirmed Jeremie Frimpong has made the switch from Celtic to Bayer Leverkusen.

The news was broke on Tuesday by Neil Lennon who told Celtic fans the right-back was abroad seeking a move away from the club.

It came out shortly thereafter, Bayer Leverkusen was the club and a fee of around £11.5m was agreed between the two parties.

Neil Lennon made it clear Jeremie wanted to leave the club for some time and we’re unsure about the breakdown in the relationship between the youngster and the club to agitate for a move less than 18 months after he made the move from Manchester City.

He came in for a little over 300k but Manchester City did add a sell-on fee. Jeremie will now move on and hope to progress in his career with the Bundesliga side.

The club are now in a race against time to get a new right-back in before the end of the window.

We published a great piece on Tuesday evening, putting forward our own choice for right back.

Frimpong Replacement.
