Former Celtic defender, Jeremie Frimpong has made the bench for his new club’s cup tie against Essen.

Frimpong’s new manager spoke earlier this week about Jeremie being a player for the future, stating the 20-year-old might not be part of his immediate plans.

However, Jeremie could make his debut from the bench in the game which is going on at the moment.

The deal for Frimpong happened very quickly once it became public knowledge. Neil Lennon made it clear the player wanted to leave and the club had a robust offer on the table from the German club.

There’s no doubt Jeremie can have a big future in the game but he has to be handled carefully and make sure he gets the correct coaching.

The former Celtic star relies on his pace and must round out his game in the coming years to be a valuable asset. We wish the wee man all the best and wish him luck if he gets some minutes this evening.
