Jesse Marsch is the talk of Celtic social media today after his comments about the Celtic job sparked wide spread interest in the Red Bull Salzburg coach.

The American is currently top of the Austrian Bundesliga with Salzburg and has already won the title there since moving in 2019.

When asked about the Celtic job, the coach didn’t dismiss the link and actually welcomed it.

We’ve been doing our digging and we’ve found out the former New York Red Bull coach actually managed to get his European pro licence thanks to his relationship with some clubs in Scotland.

Speaking to the Coaches voice, the former Leipzig assistant manager confirmed his relationship with some Scottish sides but didn’t reveal who.

“The first obstacle for all American coaches is achieving the pro license and that’s not so easy to find.

“You need to find sponsorships. I was able to get mine through Scotland with some of my relationships that I’ve had with clubs in Scotland”

Marsch speaks so well about the game and his ideas. The manager’s philosophy is to build a culture at the club using the youth system to its full potential.

He appears to be a manager who likes to work on the training ground and leave business like transfer dealings and the monotonous side of the game to others at the club. This would also fit in well with Celtic’s new approach which will see a Sporting Director installed.

Marsch would be an outstanding appointment and on the upper echelons off he type of manager Celtic could realistically land.
